Uefa Champions League runner-up player’s medal given to a C.F.Valencia’s player for the second place in the 1999/2000 Champions League Final game between Real Madrid and Valencia which took place in Paris, “Saint-Denis” Stadium, on May 24th 2000. Real Madrid defeated Valencia 3-0. The medal was given to a Valencia’s player for his second place. These medals were never sold in shops and they were specifically made for the players. It is very important that this medal has also the “Silver Made” sign under the “2000” which is exclusively for the players. While also the staff members get the medals, only the players have the real “silver made” medals and it means that this model belonged to a player and not to a staff member. In the pictures below there are some Real Madrid’s players with the same style of medal but in the 1st place golden version. The Canizares’s picture with the 2nd place silver medal is from 2000/2001 Final. We were not able to find any picture of any Valencia’s player with the 1999/2000 medal, but it looks exactly like the 2000/2001 so the Canizares one in the picture below is pretty much the same of the one in auction. The medal comes from a Valencia’s player who decided to auction it.
